MIHEC's April Learning Community Event: College and Career Learning Inside and Outside the Classroom

Join us in conversation with Dr. Kathryn Burke from Temple University’s Institute on Disabilities explains how inclusive higher education initiatives for students with intellectual disability can promote this growth by supporting students to set and work toward meaningful college and career goals and gain related experiences. Burke and current Temple University students Mikayla Henry and Andrea Parente will describe, provide resources, and share student experiences from Temple’s Leadership and Career Studies’ four-year certificate program. Temple enables students and those who support them to plan and strengthen college and career abilities, gain related experiences in the campus community, and track progress—all without separate, specialized courses.

Please share the event information with prospective students, families, and educators. Encourage them to attend and learn more about what is possible through inclusive higher education. It is never too early to plan for college. Everyone is welcome. This event will have live captioning and will be recorded for later viewing. If you require additional accommodations, please request this in your registration.
