For the last 40 years, there has been a Disability Policy Seminar (DPS) in the nation’s capital, organized and hosted by numerous disability organizations. This powerful event cultivates champions on Capitol Hill and advances the grassroots movement for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This year, due to current circumstances, events are being offered ONLINE.

The Accreditation Workgroup held an all-day meeting in Washington DC on September 11 focused on finalizing model accreditation standards for postsecondary programs for students with intellectual disability (ID). Congress required the National Coordinating Center to create this Workgroup of experts when the Higher Education Act was reauthorized in 2008.
