Think College National Coordinating Center

Project Description

The Think College National Coordinating Center provides support, coordination, training, and evaluation services for Transition and Postsecondary Education Programs for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSIDs). Our center offers these services to TPSID grantees, as well as other programs for students with intellectual disability nationwide.

Think College is honored to continue the work it began in 2010 when it was first funded as the National Coordinating Center, supporting the growth and enhancement of postsecondary options for students with intellectual disability across the United States.

The NCC leads activities that support four main goals:

Goal 1. Provide Technical Assistance and Support

We provide technical assistance to postsecondary education programs for students with intellectual disability—both TPSID and non-TPSID—to help them grow, improve, and create meaningful credentials. Through our Help Desk, extensive resources, training and peer-to-peer learning options, we support colleges, educators, families, and students nationwide.

Goal 2. Use Data to Drive Improvement

We collect and analyze data from TPSID programs to identify what works in inclusive higher education. Our findings guide personalized technical assistance, strengthen program quality, and shape new tools and resources that meet the evolving needs of our audiences.

Goal 3. Share Knowledge and Resources

We turn data and best practices into practical tools—webinars, reports, Fast Facts, How-to Guides, and online courses—to help professionals improve inclusive postsecondary education and spread awareness that college is an option for students with intellectual disability. Our broad communication network makes these resources easy to access and share.

Goal 4. Promote Quality and Sustainability

We work with partners to advance accreditation for postsecondary education programs for students with intellectual disability, ensuring accountability and long-term success. The CC also leads national gatherings to strengthen collaboration and spread effective practices across the field.
