This bill, signed in 2016, authorizes an increase in the amount of Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarships (KEES) for students with IDD who enroll in a CTP in Kentucky. These students will be eligible for a $500 KEES if they are enrolled in at least six credit hours in a term, or $250 if they are enrolled in less than six credit hours.
In order for students to be eligible for the Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarship, he or she must have been enrolled at a public high school in Kentucky at some point after June 2008 and must also have received an alternative high school diploma. The KEES can be used to support a student's education at a CTP in Kentucky for a maximum of eight academic terms.
