Date re-introduced: 3/27/24

Status: Referred to Senate and Assembly Higher Education Committees

re-introduced in 2024 as it was in 2023, but not passed, this Act would amend the education law Section 602 to allow students in postsecondary education programs eligibility for awards from tuition assistance programs. The amendment to the education law would include a new subdivision that identifies students with intellectual and developmental disabilities as eligible for this award and defines an approved postsecondary as one that meets the standards and is approved as a Comprehensive Transition Program.

This bill was originally introduced in 2022 as New York S1786 & A3032.
