This webinar provides professionals, individuals with disabilities and their families information from a postsecondary perspective that will assist them in creating a good fit between the goals of young adults with intellectual disabilities and those of postsecondary education institutions. Presenters discuss the options available, share information about admissions and financial aid, discuss how legal protections and roles in college differ from those in high school, and shares insights from a disability services office.
Eligible students with intellectual disabilities are able to access federal financial aid when they attend inclusive postsecondary education programs that have been approved as Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary (CTP) programs. In this webinar, we explain what CTP is and why programs should consider applying for this approval. We also give practical advice on the application process and how to write a successful application to become a CTP.
