Regardless of what you do related to Inclusive Higher Education, there are some upcoming events you don’t want to miss out on!

In May, the Southeastern Postsecondary Education Alliance will be holding its annual Capacity Building Institute at the University of Alabama Tuscaloosa. The dates of the event are May 20-22 and registration is now open! Act now to receive early-bird pricing (good until March 31). This year’s theme is On A Roll: Transition, Inclusion, and Determination into Employment. There will be dozens of sessions on a variety of topics including New and Innovative ideas that Improve Inclusive Postsecondary Education for Students with ID, Program Development, Transition to College, and Systems Change (working on state and regional level initiatives). In addition, there will be keynote addresses on the current landscape of inclusive postsecondary education and a screening of the movie, Intelligent Lives.

October may feel like it’s far off, but things are already cooking for this year’s State of the Art Conference, which will be in Syracuse, NY, October 7-8. The Call for Proposals is now open! Possible topics to consider are Transition to College, Independent Living, Academics, Families, Employment, Program Development & Evaluation, Promoting Policy & Systems Change, Research & Evaluation, and Campus Life. If you are doing interesting and innovative work in inclusive higher education, consider submitting a proposal today. Presenters will be notified by email by May 15.
