Find your State VR Agency

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) agencies were created by the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (Rehab Act). States receive money under Title I of the Rehab Act to provide individualized services to persons with disabilities to support them to reach their job goals. VR agencies fund a wide range of goods and services that are connected to a person’s vocational goal.

VR agencies may cover a range of services including tuition, fees, books, and vocational assessments. However, what is covered varies by student, as each case is different.

As VR agencies are administered by states, it is important to know how to get connected with your state’s VR agency. You can find contact information for each state’s VR agency here, on the Rehabilitation Services Administration website.

The state VR agency website should provide information on eligibility and how to apply for VR services. You will likely need to look further on the state agency’s website to find local contact information for your area.
