Think College hosted the webinar on October 28, 2025.
Over the past decade, states have made significant strides in advancing inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) through legislation, funding, and advocacy. From new scholarship programs to long-term sustainability efforts, momentum has grown, but challenges have remained and more work continues to be needed.
In this interactive webinar, Caroline Jurisich, alliances associate for Think College, shared highlights from 2015–2025 state policy activity, spotlighted emerging trends, and discussed lessons learned from the field. Caroline previously worked with AUCD as a higher education policy consultant and now supports regional and state alliances in advancing legislative initiatives through her work with Think College.
Participants engaged through polls, chat discussions, and a guided activity focused on learning how to take action in their state. Together, attendees reflected on what was happening across different states, connected with peers, and identified concrete next steps for action.
Whether participants were new to advocacy or already active in shaping inclusive college opportunities, they came away with:
A clear picture of state policy progress and themes from the last decade
Real examples of strategies that worked, and those that did not
Tools and ideas for getting started in their own state
New connections and inspiration for their advocacy journey
The webinar offered an opportunity to learn, share, and strengthen participants’ roles in the growing movement to expand inclusive postsecondary education opportunities nationwide.
