This month’s question came from from one of our model Transition and Postsecondary Programs for Students with Intellectual Disability (TPSID) grantees about sharing the benefits/outcomes of students with intellectual disability who attend postsecondary education (PSE) programs with their local vocational rehabilitation (VR) staff.
Question: We had a great initial meeting with our VR regional administrators, and they are interested in additional employment and overall data from the TPSIDs. Do you have any data or reports we could share with VR? They are looking specifically for data that supports the success of PSE programs and since we are brand new, we are trying to provide the track record of other PSE programs.
Answer: We have some great data to share regarding the TPSIDs’ program employment outcomes to share with VR. NCC has been collecting program and student data from TPSIDs for over 10 years. The resources below contain several documents from our June 2021 presentation, Lessons Learned from a Decade of Data.
Lessons Learned from a Decade of Data resource page
This page has multiple resources that can provide you with some good employment outcome data. Watch the recording of the presentation (you’ll find employment and career information about 20 minutes in). There is some will great employment and self-determination outcome data on the final slides (see the presentation handout).
