Each month we feature a question received by our Technical Assistance (TA) team. In 2021, the team answered 600 inquiries from parents, teachers, students, administrators, program staff, guidance counselors, and friends. If you have a question about inclusive postsecondary education, email us at ThinkCollegeTA@gmail.com.
This question came from a staff member in an inclusive college program:
I have recently entered the position of career development director for an inclusive higher education. I have been tasked with identifying existing assessment/ measurement tools which measure a student’s objective and subjective experience while job shadowing. I have found several tools that measure reflections from the job coach’s perspective, but I am struggling to find tools meant for students. I need assistance with finding existing tools or with navigating the Think College website.
The answer: Here are a few resources that I found online. These all have some form of student self-evaluation in them. I would think that any of them could be adapted to meet your specific needs.
- Job Shadowing Questionnaire - Pennsylvania Career Education & Work – this document has a student interview questions and reflection at the end
- Introduction to Job Shadowing -this has a self-evaluation form in it
- Student Self Evaluation of Job Shadowing Experience
- Student Handbook – this handbook for student has some good resources in it
- Work-based learning plan MA.doc
- Goal attainment scaling Patti Davies Colorado state PPT.pdf
