What Vocational Rehabilitation Professionals Need to Know About Inclusive Postsecondary Education

One of the best, most desirable outcomes for college students with intellectual disability is employment: meaningful, competitive, integrated employment. The people who are best suited to make that happen are vocational rehabilitation (VR) professionals, so we have created resources to help make their job easier! This page provides an introduction to the field of inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) and explains how VR professionals are essential collaborators with these programs to support students’ employment experiences and outcomes.!

Think College created a webpage specifically for VR professionals. On it you’ll find:

  • A video featuring two VR professionals talking about the valuable ways that VR works with students with intellectual disability to have successful college experiences as they prepare to work.

  • Specially selected resources in three relevant categories to help new and veteran VR professionals: Getting Started, VR/IPSE Partnerships, and Data & Policy.

  • Targeted frequently asked questions whose answers were vetted by experienced VR professionals. And if you still have questions, contact the Think College help desk for individualized assistance.

Check out the VR page and share it with the VR professionals you collaborate with to expand the opportunities for collaboration!
