Strategies for Promoting Remote Employment Supports

The use of virtual technology may offer some answers and may help us create innovative ways to support workers. During this one-hour webinar, join us to hear lessons learned from two pilot projects aimed at providing remote employment supports via the use of virtual technology.

Inclusion of Students with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities at Faith-Based Universities

Higher education is the new frontier for the inclusion of students with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). This webinar will focus on the ways in which four faith-based colleges and universities are supporting the participation and belonging of students with IDD in college life. Learn what inclusion looks like on their campuses, how this work intersects with their faith commitments, the impact it is having on their community, and what they have learned about launching and maintaining such a program.

Supporting Students with Intellectual Disabilities through the Implementation of Education Coaching

In this session we will discuss some of the challenges faced by college students with intellectual disabilities, their coaches and faculty and how a comprehensive training series developed with educational coaches and staff has been utilized to facilitate a smooth transition to college.

Supported Education: Finding the Right Support for College Success

In this session, we will discuss supported education models and highlight the benefits of providing educational support to students. We will also delineate specific roles and responsibilities that support staff fulfill, including offering encouragement, providing academic assistance, giving corrective feedback, and prompting organizational skill-building and social-skill awareness.

Transition Considerations for Youth with Complex Support Needs

Transition Innovations: Promising Vocational Rehabilitation Practices for Youth

Recent federal policy changes require state vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies to expand service delivery to transition-age youth and young adults with disabilities. These expanded services intend to improve youth’s preparation for college and employment. Mathematica’s Center for Studying Disability Policy will host a live webinar that will explore the impact of these new policy changes. The webinar will specifically highlight effective VR service practices and the challenges that state VR agencies face in adhering to new federal mandates related to transition-age youth.
