Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network

The Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network is a national technical assistance and dissemination center, funded by the US Department of Education, Office of Postsecondary Education in October, 2021.  In collaboration with the Think College National Coordinating Center, The Network disseminates research and best practices related to improving inclusive postsecondary education for students with intellectual disability, helps colleges and universities develop and expand postsecondary education programs; promotes positive academic, social, independent living, and self-advocacy outcomes for students with intellectual disability; and supports faculty, campus service providers, and families to meet the needs of students with intellectual disability.

This project is currently operating under a no-cost extension through September 30, 2026, allowing for continued progress and completion of planned activities.

Alliance Development

Build a national network of regional alliances to support strategic regional partnerships and offer community, capacity building institutes, and other learning opportunities on inclusive higher education. Learn more >>               

Public Awareness

Develop and disseminate a national public awareness campaign sharing the purpose and outcomes of inclusive postsecondary education with four important groups: students, educators, families, and IHE leadership, faculty and staff. Learn more >>

Translate research-based best practices into training opportunities to expand inclusive practices in higher education, including a repository of inclusive instructional practices and training modules. Learn more >> 

Technical Assistance

VR Partnerships

Facilitate a workgroup on vocational rehabilitation (VR) partnership and support for inclusive higher education that will identify and address policy and practice barriers and create resources designed to build stronger pathways to employment for college students with intellectual disability. Building a membership organization of professionals and advocates committed to the inclusion of people with intellectual disability in postsecondary education.
