The Great Lakes Inclusive Postsecondary Education Alliance (GLIPSEA) ia a new regional effort committed to increasing college access and outcomes for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities by meeting various stakeholder needs through best practices. GLIPSEA member states are Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin. Join us today to support Inclusive Postsecondary Education in the Great Lakes Region.
The Think College Inclusive Higher Education Network, in partnership with the State of the Art Conference, will host a pre-conference capacity building institute (CBI) on Tuesday October 24th to support the development and expansion of regional alliances on inclusive postsecondary education. Those who are actively working with Think College on the creation and strengthening of a regional alliance or those interested in creating a future regional alliance are invited to join us!
This event, hosted by the Minnesota Inclusive Higher Education Consortium, will discuss the importance of paid employment while in college and offer information on a national study to assist staff in higher education to provide employment supports that fit the strengths and needs of college students with IDD. Jaclyn will be joined by one of her students who will share their experience. The presentation will include ideas on how to help students get paid jobs while in college.
The Southeast Postsecondary Education Alliance (SEPSEA) will host their annual conference from May 18-19, 2023 in Nashville, Tennessee. The Think College Network is hosting a State Alliances Capacity Building Institute as part of the conference (open to any states, not just those in the southeast). There will also be a strand on Community Colleges and inclusive postsecondary education for students with intellectual disability. Think College is a presenting sponsor of the conference and will be exhibiting at the conference.

Join Show Me College for the “College is Possible” webinar to learn about college options for students with IDD in Missouri. College may help you prepare for a career, live independently, and to have a vibrant social life. Students from three colleges will share their stories, and a financial aid counselor will offer advice on ways to pay for college. Presenters will also tour the new Show Me College website, home to resources about inclusive-college education programs in Missouri.
You are invited to join the Minnesota Inclusive Higher Education Consortium (MIHEC) learning community for a glimpse into our presenters' experience advocating for inclusive higher education in Minnesota. They will provide information on state-level advocacy, what it takes to get a bill signed into law, and what you can do to get involved in public policy advocacy. Students, parents, educators, and faculty can all make a difference as inclusive higher education public policy advocates. There will be time for learning and asking questions.
